Pride

“I hate pride and arrogance.”-GOD

Twenty years ago, a friend of mine was asked to join his father sharing the “Good News” to the incarcerated. My friend loved the Lord but ministering to inmates was the last thing he wanted to do.

So, he decided to leave it up to God. When he opened his Bible, it fell on Matthew 25:36 “I was in prison and you visited me.”

While at his first service in the county jail my friend looked at the inmates wondering who the worst offender was. The Lord told him, because of a prideful heart he was. My friend accepted his calling that day and has been letting his light shine ever since.

As we get ready for our Pause time may we remember how God feels about pride to help our focus on being like Jesus Christ, our ultimate example of selflessness who gave Himself on the cross for us!
