That Still Small Voice

Several years ago, a friend from our old neighborhood was in town for surgery and an extended stay at our local hospital. I had visited him periodically, but one Sunday I had a still small voice in my head telling me to go see him. I did not listen because I had other tasks that needed to be done. My voice overruled the small voice and I decided I could see him next week. My friend died that evening; there would be no next week. I made a promise to myself that I would never miss another opportunity like this again. While in prison, my conviction to stay true to …..

My wife, Julie, is Italian and makes the best spaghetti and meatballs (no offense mom). Tonight (Thursday the 12th) schedules would allow Jon and Julie the time to make meatballs together. Three thoughts went through my mind when I received the news. First, I was happy they did not wait until Friday the 13th. Second, I was glad I was working that night and would be out of the house. The third thought was, it would make …..

With the football season coming to a close I thought I would use this post to look back at the season. For years football was a very important part of my life. I loved playing, coaching and watching it. I loved anything and everything that had to do with football. During my incarceration football suddenly didn’t seem so important. Many inmates chose to watch or wager on the games. I found I would rather read the Bible or go to one of the Chapel services. I still enjoy football, but not the way I use to. Football has taken a backseat to God and family. Looking back at last football …..
