We all have strengths and weaknesses. The enemy attacks us where we are weak. In the Bible we read about Samson and his great feats of strength.  Like all of us, Samson had a weakness, and his weakness was women. Delilah was the woman that broke Samson’s strength. The name Delilah means low-hanging fruit, which is a thing or person that can be won, obtained, or persuaded with little effort. The enemy loves to tempt us with low-hanging fruit. Low hanging fruit will rot your soul. This Lenten season lets focus on the fruits of the Spirit which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness gentleness and self-control. Ash Wednesday was celebrated this week. Ash Wednesday is a day of repentance when Christians confess their sins and profess their devotion to God. The ashes symbolize death and repentance. While I was thinking about ashes the phrase “ashes to ashes, dust to dust’ came to mind. Before passing away, my friend Steve asked to have Matthew West’s song “Grace Wins” played at his funeral. Steve first heard Grace Wins when he attended our Pause service two years ago. Grace got hold of Steve that night. The Apostle Paul assures us that “For it is grace you have been saved, through faith-and not from yourselves, it is a gift from God.” When I got in my car Saturday morning Grace Wins was on the radio. I Praised God for His grace and the hope Steve found in Jesus Christ. This Valentine’s Day let’s give our hearts to Jesus because His Grace Wins every time.

The last time I saw Steve is when I officiated his son Steve Jr.’s wedding last year. For years, Steve battled a rare lung disease and because of the grace of God and an organ donor Steve was able to attend the wedding. Steve’s life shows the importance of being an organ donor and that the most important organ you can give is …..

Pastor Louis Giglio said, “Fear can be defined as faith in the enemy.” In the Bible we read there is no truth in the enemy for the devil is a liar and the father of lies. Fear is a liar. Fear steals God’s glory. The enemy would like us to fear everything, but the Bible has 365 verses that tell us “not to fear.” Faith in God is mentioned 458 times in the Bible. Faith in God overcomes fear. May all of us trade our human fear for God’s divine faith.
