Used To Do
The older I get the more I am unable to do the things I used to do. For example, I used to be able to dunk a basketball. I can no longer dunk a basketball unless it is on a Little Tykes hoops. Age has caught up to me and I am no longer the athlete I used to be.
Thank God that spiritually I am no longer the man I used to be. Apostle Paul tells us, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
As a new creation in Christ there are some things we should no longer do that we used to do. Some of the things that I used to do were not pleasing to the Spirit. This was pointed out to me the other day when I was reminded how I used to blowup and overreact. Sin has a way of doing that to a person. The key phrase though, was “used to.”
I can no longer dunk a basketball so instead I dunk donuts. I thank God every day that spiritually I am no longer the man I use to be and I no longer do the things I used to do.
