Trapped

The other night I received a call from my wife telling me they had spotted a mouse in the house. We set up some traps and waited.

Sometimes life can make us feel trapped, paralyzed, hemmed in, like there is no way out. For some, the holidays have a way of magnifying these feelings.

Maybe it’s the job you have or don’t have. Maybe a relationship that isn’t going the way you hoped or going the way you hoped it would never go. Maybe you are struggling with health issues. Life can make you feel trapped, just like a mouse.

If you are reading this you probably already have faith in God or as hard as it may be to believe, God is working on you through me to lead you to Him. Either way you can be sure God did not sent His only Son to die a horrific death so we would feel trapped. God sent His only Son so we would be free.

Many people know John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” The verse that follows is just as powerful, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” The Creator of all things came not to condemn but to save. Not to trap but to set free. Always remember that you are a child of God not a mouse. As a child of God you are never trapped.

As for the mouse, early the next morning he would have his last supper.
