Anyone who has ever been in a long distant relationship knows how difficult it is to keep them together. I was in two long distant relationships at the same time. Sin put distance between me and God and me and my family. Sin separates us from God because He is holy and just and He despises sin. The more we sin the greater the separation. The greater the gap the more difficult it becomes to hear God when He calls. When I was leading a sin filled life I put a huge gap between God and me.
