The Prodigal One

Earlier this week August decided to come early here in Central Illinois. It was 90 degrees outside but felt like 120 degrees inside where I was working at my cleaning job. I was physically and spiritually beat, and decided it would be a good idea to let God know how I felt. As I was emptying my mop bucket I said, “Lord, my sin is ever before me.” (psalm 51:3) As soon as the words left my mouth the Lord replied very clearly, “My grace is greater than your sin.” I once read that grace is getting what you don’t deserve, mercy is not getting what you do deserve.
