Fear is a big part of Halloween but an even bigger part of the Bible. Fear of God is mentioned over 300 times in the Bible. Jesus said to the people, “I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of people. They can kill the body, but after that they can do nothing more to hurt you.I will show you the one to fear. You should fear God, who has the power to kill you and also to throw you into hell. Pastor Louis Giglio said, “Fear can be defined as faith in the enemy.” In the Bible we read there is no truth in the enemy for the devil is a liar and the father of lies. Fear is a liar. Fear steals God’s glory. The enemy would like us to fear everything, but the Bible has 365 verses that tell us “not to fear.” Faith in God is mentioned 458 times in the Bible. Faith in God overcomes fear. May all of us trade our human fear for God’s divine faith.
