The Apostle Paul warned the church in Corinth, “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons.Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Are we stronger than he?” I learned the hard way you can’t have it both ways. Don’t drink the devils Kool-Aid. Come to the Lord’s table, drink in the Living Water and watch your cup of salvation overflow.
This past Sunday (and every first Sunday of the month) we celebrate Holy Communion at our church. We practice open communion which means that all are welcome to partake in the body and blood of Christ. Our Pastor invites the congregation by saying, “come to the table all is ready.” Early in my prison sentence in Oklahoma City I found out there are some tables where all are not welcomed.
