Shedding tears is a great way to grow spiritually. A few months ago, I was at Peoria County Jail and one of the inmates told us how he couldn’t control his tears.

That happens when God gets hold of you. God promises to take away our heart of stone and give us a heart of flesh. We are promised a new heart and a new spirit. With anew heart and a new spirit comes some tears. Tears of grief because of our past and tears of joy because of our future in Christ.

It reminds me of the Grinch. Well, in Whoville they say – that the Grinch’s small heart grew three sizes that day.

When we repent and tears begin to flow our brokenness is healed and our hearts begin to grow, and grow and grow.
