Moving Mountains
The last couple of weeks I have been working moving mulch. Not a pile, but a mountain of mulch. My first thought was that I would never get through this. A little despair set in when I discovered the mulch would need to be pushed up an incline to get to its destination.
Jobs are not easy to come by, so I grabbed a shovel and began to dig in and talk with God. I have found the tedious becomes easier when I look at it as spending quality time with God. Gradually the mountain was moved and my faith was strengthened.
We can run into mountains in our personal life. They get in your way as you travel down life’s road. Mountains can become stumbling blocks and sometimes seem too big to move. I think God works with us moving the mountains in our lives the same way as I moved the mulch. A little bit at a time.
Instead of using shovels Jesus tells us we need faith to move mountains. Faith does not come overnight. It requires hours of Prayer and complete trust in and dependence on God. It takes time and work to make it grow.
I don’t know what the mountains are in your life but you probably have a pretty good idea of the ones I am climbing. I have no doubt God will move my mountains. Whatever mountains you are facing know that faith in God will either knock the mountain down or allow you the grace to get through it. One way or another God will be with you making sure you get to the other side.
