After an organ transplant, I have heard it said that the patient is “living on borrowed time.” I think that depend on where your hope lies. Is your hope in the surgeons or the one who gave them their skills?

As a Christian I don’t believe that one is ever “living on borrowed time.” God is the giver of life not the loaner of time. I don’t believe God has ever been surprised by someone unexpectedly showing up at Heaven’s Gate. God doesn’t get caught off guard by life or death after all, He wrote the book on it.

I have witnessed the miracle of an organ transplant, so I checked my driver’s license last week to make sure I was a registered donor. If the opportunity were to arise I wanted to make sure the “giver of life” could give life to someone in need.
