Sometimes the thought of beginning a New Year can be overwhelming and lead us into a valley. Pastor Tony Evans says, “Sometimes God must lead you downhill to take you uphill. He must take you to the bottom in order to get you to the top. The problem comes when we are at the bottom, because we tend to assume that it’s the end of the trip. But when the Lord is with you, something is going to happen.”

If you are in a valley, “fear no evil for the Lord is with you, His rod and staff will comfort you.” (Psalm 23)

The God of comfort will lead you out of the valley and back to the mountain top so you can comfort others with the same comfort you received from Him. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
