For Better For Worse
This past Friday the 29th I went to the store to purchase some flowers for my wife Julie as a gift for our 27th wedding anniversary. Years ago I may have purchased a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine to go with the flowers but not today. While I was shopping I picked up some Pine Sol and oatmeal. Not real romantic, but practical. The Pine Sol was to clean the kitchen floors and the oatmeal was because I am old and trying to live a healthier life style.
Twenty seven years ago Julie vowed to marry me for better for worse. Obviously, there has been some times where she probably thought things could get any worse. But thanks to God they are getting better.
When I was carted off to prison Julie had options. She decided to stick by my side even though the world, and those in it, would encourage her to leave. She stayed with me and for that, I am truly blessed.
For better for worse. As we go forward life will offer us both. The devil may rear his ugly head again and things could go from bad to worse. But this time we will be ready, because we have seen worse and we know with God by our side things will only get better.
