We have all broken the law. Some have broken man’s law but all of us have broken God’s law. God ‘s law is the 10 commandments and breaking His law is a sin.  When Jesus was asked “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”  If you have not loved God with all your heart you are a law breaker. The only one who has ever been able to keep this commandment (and the others) is Jesus Christ. For all have sinned and …..

After my friend’s husband passed away, her three-year old granddaughter wanted to see Grandpa and asked if there was a map to get to Heaven. Grandma told her Jesus is the map. The next morning the little girl asked Jesus to come into her heart. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” You can’t buy your way, work your way, earn your way or even do-good your way to Heaven. The three men walked out of the fire without a hair on their head being singed. Jesus is still with us today. Jesus is with us when we walk through …..

At Lazarus’ graveside Jesus wept. Not because he could not raise Lazarus from the dead (He did) but because he was moved with compassion for the people He came to save.  (John 11:35)   When Jesus passed by a funeral position of a young man and saw his mother crying, moved with compassion, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” On Jesus’ command the dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. (Luke 7:13-15) Moved with compassion Jesus healed the eyes of the blind (Matthew 20:34) and a man with leprosy (Mark 1:40-45). Moved with compassion, “Jesus did many other …..

Jesus wept (John 11:35) may be the shortest verse in the Bible but for me it is one of the most comforting. Jesus feels our pain. This Lenten Season let us spend extra time praising Jesus because He is a priest to forgive, a prophet to teach, a king to rule, a shepherd to guide and for walking in our shoes. In the book of Revelations, we are assured that one day all our tears will be wiped away but until that time I take great comfort knowing Jesus wept.
