Sometimes I marvel how God allows me to share in the true meaning of Christmas. A week before Christmas I was delivering gift bags to shut-ins. I stopped at one of the houses but no one was home. I left a message on the answering machine to call when they were available. A few hours later a lady called, anxious for me to deliver the gift. Merry Christmas

Last Christmas was my first home after two years of incarceration. I could not believe the joy I felt during the Christmas season. Free from the consequences of my sin, back with my family and back with God, it couldn’t get much better than that. The joy has only increased this year as I continue to grow closer to both. I am so grateful for those who have been there for me and my family. May God bless you as much as you have blessed us. May you have a joy filled Christmas and a happy new year.

Breathe

  A friend of mine has been struggling with a lung disease for several years. This disease restricts air flow making it difficult to breathe. A few months ago prayers were answered when he was asked to participate in a study for a new drug. This drug could possibly help combat his illness, make his lungs stronger and increase the length and quality of his life. In a recent follow up visit the doctor was encouraged with his progress. Last Sunday was the 10th anniversary of my father’s passing. My father was a rugged man. When I was a younger, my friends and I would get into the “whose father was the strongest competition.” My dad would win hands down. He had nine lives until a surgery on his hip left him crippled. My dad ended up in a wheel chair. “He was a man of steel, he was not supposed to end this way,” I often thought. But I know God had a plan. This knowledge has given me great deal of comfort.
