In the Gospel of Mark we read that people brought Jesus a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and  begged Jesus to heal him. Before healing the man Jesus looked up to heaven sighed, said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means “Be opened!”). The man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly. Jesus, the Creator of all things sighed. I believe Jesus sighed not because of size of the miracle but because of the mess the sin of Adam had made out of the world He created. It was not supposed to be this way. I have the feeling Jesus is sighing with all the turmoil in the …..

For the last couple of months, it seems like the enemy has been raining on our parade. Jesus said “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Pastor Tony Evans says everyone’s house looks the same until it starts to rain. The enemy told me I was worthless God assured …..

Five years ago, I was asked to speak at an event in Raleigh North Carolina. I arrived at our local airport at 4:15 am for a 5:15 flight to Chicago where I would take a flight to Washington and then arrive in Raleigh at 2:00pm. When I arrived, I was told the plane needed repairs and the departure would be delayed 20 minutes. No big deal until the delay was changed to 7:30. I still had plenty of time so I decided I would read my Bible and pray. One of the other passengers began to pace. The more he paced the madder he got.  When 7:30 became 8:30 his …..

It seems like everywhere we turn we hear about the “new normal”. In the Bible we are told “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)” I think I will pass on the “new normal” because I wasn’t impressed with the “old normal.” I will stick with my “new life” in Jesus Christ. If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17) The Lord will give us a new heart and put a new spirit in us. (Ezekiel 36:26) I will keep moving forward with the promise …..
