Growing up, my favorite superheroes Batman, Robin, and Aquaman all wore masks. This week I found another masked hero. My new hero is a Pastor who was wearing a mask with the verse Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God has a plan when most people in charge don’t and He does not want to harm us even though others would. Jesus offers hope and a future in a way that only He can do. The Lord’s masked avenger showed another way for Christians to, “share …..

Watching the debates only confirmed my decision to vote for Jesus. Jesus is no ordinary Joe and Trumps Donald. Instead of kicking Him out we need to vote him in. Tired? My candidate says, “Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) Rioting? Jesus offers “Peace that passes all understanding.” (Philippians 4:7) Global warming? He created Heaven and earth (Genesis). Racial tension? We are created in His image (Genesis 1:27). The Apostle Paul tells us, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” There is no cost for the cure you only need to accept it. The cure has been bought and paid for with the blood of Christ.

It has been nice having the opportunity to attend the Lord’s House again. It seems strange wearing face masks and practicing social distancing, but it is better than no church at all. Church is so much more than Sundays. Church needs to happen every day. Pastor Tony Evans said, “The devil doesn’t care if you go to church on Sunday if he has you Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.” Church on Sunday is corporate worship. During the week church is reading the Bible, praying, and worshiping Jesus. When you get up Monday morning start your day by praising the Lord because waiting until Sunday makes one weak.

As election time draws near it would be nice to have some unbiased news. Something in black and white and easy to understand. It would be nice to hear the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I won’t hold my breath waiting for the news to tell the truth because the real truth is as Christians the blood of Jesus Christ has set us free. I will trade fake news for the Good News which is found in God’s Word and written in Black and white and red.
