Lou
A couple years ago Super Bowl fell on the same day as the Bible study I led at the local assisted living community.
There was a resident named Lou, that had memory issues and would forget about the study or take a nap and not wake up on time. When I went to his room to remind him, he jumped out of his recliner excited to go. On the way to the Chapel he told me how he would hate to miss a Bible study.
When I went into his room, he was watching the game with a friend. I reminded him about the study but was told he would have to miss it.
When I arrived at the Chapel, I explained Lou would not attend and we began the class. A few minutes later the doors swung opened and Lou stood with Bible in hand. As Lou sat down, I heard him tell one of the attendees, “I just love the Lord so much.”
Lou may have forgotten many things, but he remembered the most important, to ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.’
