A friend of mine invited a young man who was a non-believer to his church. While attending the service the young man gave his life to Christ. Soon after he would be baptized and began attending church every Sunday.

A month later when I was introduced to him, he had fallen away from the church.

I talked to the young man about spending time every day with the Lord but, he replied, “I got this.” He apparently didn’t need God’s help anymore. He may have told me “I got this” but I had to wonder if he ever had IT at all.

Jesus said,”  If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” The days when I think, “I got this”, end up being the days when I need Jesus the most.
