Let Your Light Shine
Jesus calls us to be the light of the world. To lead people out of the darkness and into His wonderful light.
A couple years ago I was delivering Christmas gift bags to shut-ins. One of the houses I stopped at no one was home, so I left a message on the answering machine. A few hours later a lady called, anxious for me to deliver the gift. I was going by her house later that evening and told her I could drop it off then.
When I pulled up to the house it was dark inside. The whole neighborhood was dark because of a power outage.
When the door opened, I was greeted by an elderly lady who told me the power had been out for an hour and she was hoping it would come back soon because it was so dark and cold.
When I showed her the gift bag a smile broke out and suddenly it didn’t seem quite so dark or quite so cold. It wasn’t so much the gift, but the light of Christ that shined on that dark cold night.
As we approach Christmas may our light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
