Trust Me
Satan has been saying “Trust me” since he tempted Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. But the Bible tells us that Satan is the Father of lies and a thief and certainly is not someone to trust.
Last Sunday I had the opportunity to share a message on Spiritual Warfare at a church in Mossville Illinois. When I turned on the road leading to the church I saw an establishment called “Trust Me Tavern.”
Alcohol is one of the devils greatest “Trust Me” weapons. Satan says, “Trust me, have another drink and your troubles will go away.” “Trust me you are okay to drive.” Trust me, trust me, trust me; it’s all nothing but a bunch of lies.
Years ago, you may have found me sitting in a bar stool listening to those “trust me” lies at the Trust Me tavern but not anymore. Because now I, “Trust in is the Lord, with all my heart, and lean not on my own understanding. In all ways I acknowledge him, and he shall direct my paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Trust me these are words to live by.
