Christian artist David Crowder has a hit song called “All My Hope.” The other day my friend Howard was putting an exhaust fan in the bathroom and decided to whistle that tune for the five hours we were working. I like the song but not that much.

The next day when I turned on the radio “All My Hope” was playing. It seemed like wherever I went “All My Hope” was playing. I was beginning to lose hope that I would ever get “All My Hope” out of my head.

This morning I went to church hopeful to spend some quiet time with the Lord. I settled in to the pew and our contemporary group began the service with “All My Hope.” I thought you have got to be kidding me.

Then I listened to the refrain :

All my hope is in Jesus

Thank God that yesterday’s gone

All my sins are forgiven

I’ve been washed by the blood    

The busyness of the week I never took the time to really look at the lyrics. I am thankful for people like Howard who are always there to remind me of where my hope lies.
