There is nothing quite like a mother’s love. A mother’s love gives us a glimpse of The Father’s love. I would describe a mother’s love as a taste of Heaven while we are here on earth.

Before my release from prison as a part of a prerelease class I needed to send an apology letter to someone I had hurt with my sin. There were many, but I chose my mother. The following was her reply:

“Dear John,
Thank you for the apology. I know you are sorry for what you did, especially hurting all the people you love. I know you had to be desperate. I forgave you from the start. I know you will spend the rest of your life atoning for your mistake. You are so lucky to have Julie and the boys. They love you very much. I can’t wait for the day you return to us. I pray for you several times a day and know God is keeping you safe. I love you very much.
Mom”

That’s a mother’s love. If you are a mother I would like to wish you a happy Mother’s Day and I am certain that your children would agree with me when I say that there is nothing quite like a mother’s love.
