Anyone who has ever been in a long distant relationship knows how difficult it is to keep them together. I was in two long distant relationships at the same time. Sin put distance between me and God and me and my family.

Sin separates us from God because He is holy and just and He despises sin. The more we sin the greater the separation. The greater the gap the more difficult it becomes to hear God when He calls.

When I was leading a sin filled life I put a huge gap between God and me. The only way for me to close the gap was to repent of my sins and begin to live the life God had called me to live.

My sin would also lead to a great distance between my family and I. Fortunately, both long distance relationships survived. My family and my God have been gracious enough to give me the opportunity to atone for my poor choices.

Over the past month I have had the opportunity to travel long distances from home to share my story about the King of glory. The difference this time is the gap has been closed and my relationship with God (and my family) has never been closer.
