The Evidence is Clear
In court, attorneys present evidence (or whatever they would like the court to believe is evidence) to convict or free someone.
I would like to provide irrefutable evidence that Christ is the Messiah. That Christ is who He claimed to be. That He died on the cross for our sins and on the third day He rose. Evidence that Christ lives.
Mathematicians have calculated the odds of Jesus fulfilling only 8 of the Messianic prophecies as 1 out of 1017 (a 1 followed by 17 zeros). This is equivalent to covering the entire state of Texas with silver dollars 2 feet deep, marking one of them, mixing them all up and having a blindfolded person select the marked one at random the first time.
Jesus fulfilled over 300 of the Messianic Prophesies. I guess the odds of that occurring would increase to infinity and beyond.
But if this were a court of law, the prosecution would bring in an expert witness to prove that the calculations lack credibility. The goal would be to create doubt in the minds of the jurors.
In defense of Christ, I would try to shed some light on the subject. Actually, Christ would provide the light; I would only show the jury where to find it.
To prove Christ is real you need to look to your heart. I know a man who was rejected but still felt accepted. He knows Christ lives. Who was all alone but never lonely. He knows Christ lives. Whose sin brought his world crashing down but had a peace that goes beyond understanding. He knows Christ lives.
For me, the verdict is in. I am that man. Christ has never left my side. I know without a doubt that Christ is who He claimed. I know Christ lives. For me the evidence is clear and because of the evidence I have been set free.
