Beyond the Pigs
This weeks post is based on the Parable Jesus told of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-31). To paraphrase, a son asked his father for his portion of his inheritance while the father was still living. The father obliged and the son left the country and spent his inheritance on wild living. Things got bad enough for the son that he had to take a job feeding pigs. He became so hungry that he longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. When he came to his senses, he returned home and his father threw his arms around him and kissed him.
The parable gives us only a glimpse of what happens when the son returns. My sin drove me to what seemed like a different country. Upon my return home, I also was welcomed with arms wide open. This weekly blog will be used to tell the readers what I had learned and continue to learn along the way. I pray it may bring hope when needed and helps one to realize that no matter where they are at or what they’ve done, God is waiting, ready to welcome you home.
